When I confirmed my trip to Palm Beach for “work,” I immediately headed to my local Lilly Pulitzer store at the mall in Green Hills and tried on just about everything (not kidding). I was living my best life having a private fashion show (with myself) in a dressing room with the words “Palm Beach” painted on the walls above my head (literally). It was an adult version of a kid in a candy shop. I know you can wear Lilly anywhere, but with its origins in Palm Beach, I was uber-excited to wear the clothing line there. So I did my best to restrain myself and only purchase what I absolutely needed- aka, what could fit in my suitcase. From leisure clothes to going-out rompers, I left with quite the hall, and I ended up taking almost exclusively Lilly pieces with me on my trip.
I’m not going to lie, I’ve been a fan of the clothes for years, but the collection that was just released in the Nashville store had a lot of pieces that I was excited to buy for practicality reasons. Several of the dresses that I pulled to try on had shorts hidden underneath, which makes life so much easier for a mom of two kids who is constantly bending over to pick up things, including a child. I also love riding bikes when I’m on vacation, which is impossible to do in a dress, so problem solved.
I also bought a few separates that can easily mix and match which gives me options when traveling and helps me keep my packing list down. And of course, I found the perfect swimsuit and matching cover-up that’s sexy while still being appropriate for my age and for taking my kids to the pool and beach. Paige and Caroline also found the cutest swimsuits and cover-ups from Lilly, and we looked right at home lounging by the fabulous pool at The Colony, where we stayed during our visit to Palm Beach.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Lilly Pulitzer store on Worth Avenue. The store itself is EVERYTHING, and so Palm-Beach chic I could hardly stand it. The staff was delightful, and Paige, Caroline and I had the best time shopping while sipping champagne and basking in all the colorful and darling patterns of the clothes, furniture and walls.
Of course, there’s also a fabulous built-in bar in the store, which is genius, since so much about the brand centers around entertaining. We made ourselves right at home, and again, spending time in the store was one of the highlights of our gals’ trip, and I highly recommend it when visiting Palm Beach.
And last but certainly not least, I’m so thankful I snagged this Lilly pullover and coordinating cropped legging to lounge around in after galavanting around town all day. I’m not much for working out, but I’m all about lounging around and looking decent while I do it. I’ve already worn this outfit about a million times, and I’m stopped everywhere I go in it and asked where it’s from. The top is so soft and the leggings are comfortable and way more fun than a basic black pair of work-out pants. Speaking of, I think I’ll go put them on right now and hop into bed with a good series on Netflix.. I know y’all are with me…
