The Perfect Two-Pour Summer Cocktail

Here’s the deal- I love a good summer cocktail, but I don’t love a complicated recipe. And by “complicated,” I mean basically anything over two ingredients. This is why wine is usually my go-to beverage of choice, but sometimes I do want something fruity with a little more kick (and by “kick,” I mean stronger liquor). You can imagine my delight when I discovered Trisha Yearwood’s Summer in a Cup Cocktail Mixes at William Sonoma. She offers two flavored drink mixes (Aloha and Tropical) in two different sizes (Cup or Pitcher), and all you have to do is add your booze of choice! I was somewhat skeptical at first as drink mixes can oftentimes come too sweet, but I really like the balance of flavors in both of these mixes. Suggested liquors are included on the labels, but they worked with both vodka and rum when I tested them out (tough job right), and that covers the bases in my house. Add a squeeze of lime juice of course and a fruity flourish, and voila, you’ve got your bar covered at your next summer event! All of Trisha’s mixes are currently on sale at William Sonoma and you can find them in the store and online. Cheers y’all!
